gregfahlgren asked:
Hi Mr Breevort. I'm getting ready to post my spotlight on Brian Bendis, and was wondering if you had any final words to share about Brian and what he has meant to Marvel and comic books as a whole?
brevoortformspring answered:

I think it’s easy to take Brian for granted given the sheer amount of work he puts out every single month. It’s also been long enough that he’s been around now for other younger writers to emerge who were influenced by his approach to the material. But none of that changes the fact that Brian is in all likelihood one of the 5 most influential writers in Marvel history, one whose work actually changed expectations about the pace and emotional depth of Marvel stories and how they play out.

and its so funny,  the day he posted this a lot of creators were in my backyard talking about editors and it was unanimously decided that tom is easily the standard in which we judge all editors.

tom is so good about helping creators get the story where it needs to go without trying to write over the talent.  its such a gift. i think the last ten years or so have been tom’s best years and i’m so proud to have been a small part of it.
